Consumer Price Index(CPI)
Consumer price index(CPI) measures changes over time in general level of prices of goods and services that households acquire for the purpose of consumption.
(a)Industrial Workers: (CPI-IW)
Consumer Price Index for Industrial workers (Central Series) with base 2016=100 is compiled and released by the Labour Bureau, Shimla and the Index details are available in the website "labourbureau.gov.in".

(b)Rural, Urban and Combined at District level (CPI( R,U,C)).
The Consumer Price Index (Rural, urban, Combined) with base 2012=100 is compiled and released by the Central Statistics Office(CSO) ,Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and the Index details are available in the website "mospi.nic.in"
Consumer Price Index for Industrial workers (State Series) with base 2011=100 is compiled and released on monthly basis by Department of Economics and Statistics, Chennai for four centers viz., Cuddalore, Nagercoil, Thoothukudi and Vellore and the indices for State Series for January 2018 to May 2021.
